In Newport, Wales, a tragic incident occurred where Lewis Bush, 26, brutally murdered his mother, Kelly Pitt, 44, over a dispute involving a bacon sandwich. On the night of the attack, Kelly called her daughter, Jordan Bush, 22, for help, but Jordan, thinking it was another of their regular fights, did not call the police. This decision left her with lasting guilt, especially after discovering that it was her last conversation with her mother.

Kelly’s body was found two days later by Jordan’s partner, Kieran Saunders, 30. She had sustained severe injuries, including internal bleeding and 41 rib fractures. Lewis, who was already on bail for a previous assault on his mother and had a history of domestic abuse towards her, was arrested shortly after.

Lewis initially denied the murder but later changed his plea to guilty, and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16 years. The family had already suffered the loss of Kelly’s oldest daughter, Lauren Bush, in 2021, which further complicated the relationship between Lewis and his mother.

Despite their strained relationship, Kelly never stopped loving Lewis, according to Jordan, who now feels a profound sense of loss and injustice. She describes her mother as a beloved community figure, known for her bubbly personality and kindness. The event has left Jordan without her mother and estranged from her brother, whom she no longer considers family.
